Eastern Metro Region World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2019 Event
The event will feature Prof Briony Dow, speaking on Elder Abuse prevention and how we can stop elder abuse in our community. Following the key note presentation there will be a panel discussion with experts from across the region, sharing their views. As part of this event, the Eastern Elder Abuse Network will be launching the regional shared messages for WEAAD 2019 which are:
- No EXCUSE for Elder Abuse, and,
- Together WE can STOP Elder Abuse.
Networking opportunities and morning tea will follow the presentation and panel discussion.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Professional Education Forum
A free World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Forum for professionals, staff and workers in Shepparton and regions. Bookings essential – RSVP with Eventbrite.
Seniors Rights Victoria, the key community agency working in elder abuse in Victoria, is holding a free professional education forum in Shepparton.
The forum will be opened by Gerard Mansour, the Victorian Ambassador for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. Staff from Seniors Rights Victoria will present on indicators and responses, risk assessment and safety planning and capacity and elder abuse.

Elder Abuse Response & Prevention Expo Friday 28th June 2019 (In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) 2019)
Western Health is hosting an Expo to provide an opportunity for health professionals to meet and build awareness of services that support people experiencing elder abuse in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.
