60$ECLC and La Trobe University are conducting this forum for professionals in the eastern metropolitan region and beyond, aimed at providing opportunities to discuss and unpack sexual assault of older women. Sexual assault is most often seen as a younger women’s issue, with the result that the more hidden assault of older women by partners, carers and others gets little attention, particularly if dementia is involved, either by the woman herself or her partner.
The workshop will include the latest findings, workshopping and talks by Dr. Catherine Barrett (Norma’s Project) Judy Flanagan (ECASA), Kaz Mackay (ECLC), Michelle Clooney (Family Violence unit, Vic Police) and Marilyn White (Safe Futures Foundation).
